CATHERINE B. DEMPSEY
Catherine “Kate” Dempsey grew up in Buffalo, New York, the daughter of two successful trial lawyers.
Kate graduated from Georgetown University in 2001 and the University at Buffalo School of Law in 2005. She clerked at her parents’ law firm, Dempsey & Dempsey, during law school and became an associate there after law school.
Kate has successfully litigated thousands of cases in her career. She has achieved numerous multi- million dollar settlements and verdicts. She is also a past president of the Western Regional Affiliate of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association. She has lectured many times on personal injury law to fellow lawyers. She was the recipient of the “Trial Lawyer of the Year Award” for 2022 from the Western Regional Affiliate of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association.
Kate is a wife and mom to three daughters. She is an avid Buffalo Bills and Sabres fan. If she is not in a courtroom or at her desk, you will find her doing what she loves, which is watching her three daughters play hockey. She and her husband Scott live in Snyder, New York.
